Upgrading Customer to Operator Connect Pro
This section describes how to upgrade Operator Connect licenses from OC Essentials to OC Essentials + or OC Pro.

● | Once a customer is upgraded to OC Hosted Pro the Live Platform provides access to the Teams phone system management for this tenant. See Customer Direct Routing Permissions for details on actions that can be performed by the OC Pro Customer operator. |
➢ | To upgrade to OC Pro: |
1. | Do one of the following: |
● | In the Tenants page, select the desired lead, click…. and choose Convert to OC Pro. |
● | In the Tenants screen, click Upgrade Customer. |
The Onboarding wizard opens.
2. | Enter Full Name of service – Free Text. |
3. | Enter Short Name of service - Define a unique name for the new service. |
Note the following rules:
● | The string should be 3-15 characters long |
● | The following characters cannot be used: \ / : * ? " < > |audit |
● | Can contain letters (lower/UPPER case), Numbers and special characters are allowed, however cannot contain the dot (.) or blank spaces. |
● | Unique name per Service |
4. | Select the OC Essentials Plus or OC Pro license Type. |
5. | Select the number of licensed users. A maximum of 500 users can be configured per customer. |
6. | Select the check box Send link to IT administrator for authentication, and then enter the email address of the Tenant service Global admin or Service account admin. |
7. | Close the window. |
8. | Open the email of the Global Admin account and search for the Welcome mail from Live Platform with a link to the Token Invitation wizard. |
If mail has not been received, open the Multitenant interface and navigate to Security > Customer Invitations. Search for the relevant token and verify that the 'Email Sent' field is set to true (see Pending Invitations). You can also initiate the Token Invitation wizard by clicking the AuthURL link (see below), and then copy the URL and paste in Web browser. In addition, check the email settings (see Configuring Email Settings).
9. | Click the link to the Token Invitation wizard sent in the mail as shown in the example above. The Token Invitation Wizard Welcome screen is displayed. |
10. | Enter the credentials of the Global Admin account, and then click Start authentication. |
11. | Copy the code at the bottom of the screen, and then click the Web browser link. |
12. | Paste the code and then click Next. |
13. | Select the credentials of Tenant service Global Admin account, and then click Next. |
14. | You will be prompted to authenticate your account using Microsoft Authenticator. A screen similar to the following is displayed; .complete the authentication process. |
15. | Click Continue. |
16. | Close the Information window and return to the Token Invitation wizard screen. A confirmation message is displayed that the Token Invitation wizard has successfully acquired a token. |
17. | If this is the first time that you are connecting to your customer tenant, click the click here to continue the authentication process link. |
18. | Enter the credentials of the customer tenant Global Admin account. |
19. | Select the Consent on behalf of your organization check box, and then click Accept. A confirmation message is displayed indicating that the Token authentication process has successfully completed. |
20. | Close the browser tab; the Tenant Activation page appears with an additional confirmation message. |
21. | Close the Tenant Activation page. |
22. | Reopen the Onboarding wizard; in the Services page, from the Add Service drop-down, select Direct Routing, select your customer, and then click Pending Invitations to confirm that the Authentication process is complete; verify that Status is shown as Authentication Complete (see Pending Requests). You can then click Upgrade to resume the Onboarding |
23. | Click Next to continue. |
24. | Confirm the License Type and enter the number of licensed users. The tenant account is validated and the service is upgraded. |
25. | Return to the Services page and note that the service has been successfully upgraded to OC Pro. |
26. | Select the check box adjacent to the service and view the Service Details. Click the SIP Connections tab to view the details of the new SIP Connection created for the service (see SIP Connections Management). |
27. | If the new tenant service is a separate Azure tenant to the Channel tenant, login to the new account on the Azure portal and open the newly created Token registration (Enterprise Applications > <Token-Registration-Name>). Note the newly added permissions for the new Enterprise application. In the Navigation pane, select Permissions to view the permissions for the new Enterprise application. |
28. | From the Operator Connect drop-down, choose Edit Service. |
The Users page of the Service portal opens.
29. | Open the M365 Settings page (Configuration > M365 Configuration). Notice that the Tenant account credentials are displayed. You can click Validate Authentication to test the Token connection. A confirmation message is displayed at the top of the screen. |
30. | Proceed to Getting Started with Operator Connect Pro. |
